Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Egypt and Israel.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. This species is distinguished from its congeners by its lower dorsal ray count, D VI, I,6, with the second and third dorsal spines the longest; A I,8; P 16-17; 26-27 lateral line scales; 9 transverse scale count (Ref. 83991).
