Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range - 0 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to Gulf of Oman, including the eastern Mediterranean via the Suez Canal.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 20-24; Anal soft rays: 19-22
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
