Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Trinidad and Tobago to southern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 48-53; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 34-37. Pectoral fin vestigial (Ref. 36453).
Biology:  Mainly found in brackish lagoons (Ref. 36453).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 24 August 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
