Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Aquarium specimens reach 9.0 cm TL (Ref. 1672). Aquarium keeping: in groups of 5 or more individuals; may jump out of the aquarium; minimum aquarium size 100 cm (Ref. 51539).
