Diagnosis:  This species is characterized by the following: number of lateral-line scales 53-55; anterior and posterior palatine teeth same length; teeth on the tongue 14-25 and peritoneal spots 11-12; when preserved, with eight greyish diamond-shaped markings (Ref. 137743).
