Family:  Squatinidae (Angel sharks)
Max. size:  135 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 120 - 400 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: endemic to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the continental shelf and upper slope. Common in about 300 m depth (Ref. 6871). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449). Flesh is tasty (Ref. 6871).

Threat to humans:  traumatogenic
