This species of the subgenus Sillago is distinguished by the following characters: small head (29.0-30.1% SL); A 23-24; total vertebrae 35-36; body depth at origin of second dorsal fin slightly deeper than that at origin of first dorsal fin; fused or narrowly separated first and second hypurals; fused third and fourth hypurals; midline of body with 11 dusky spots (Ref. 85602). | |||
