Family:  Scorpaenidae (Scorpionfishes or rockfishes), subfamily: Scorpaeninae
Max. size:  6.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 7 - 82 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: North Carolina, USA and the Bahamas to São Paulo, Brazil (Ref. 57756).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs mostly on deep coral reefs and steep, coral-covered slopes.
