Max. size:  26 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 5 - 157 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Mazatlán, Sonora, Mexico to Chile (Ref. 5530). Also from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5
Biology:  Found on rocky bottoms between 5 and 157 m depth.
