Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Compared to other species of Schismatogobius, it has the lowest number of pectoral fin rays and the female's entire ventral side of head with deep black pigmentation (Ref. 39635). | |||
Biology: | Inhabits shallow and clear-water riffles with slow to moderate current in rivers with substrate of small to medium gravel. Elevations of type localities of adult specimens range from 18 m to 250 m, however, it may be an amphidromous species (Ref. 39635). | |||
