Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 2,260.0 g
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal. Also recorded from Bhutan (Ref. 9418) and Thailand (Ref. 1632).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rivers and streams; do not have barbels but with a deep cleft in the mouth (Ref. 9496).
