Description: Characterized by mainly bluish shading to green color on upper head and back; prominent red spot at base of pectoral fin; dorsal rays VI+I,25; anal rays I,23-24; pectoral rays 21: very small scales in longitudinal series, approximately 150-160; gill rakers 6-8+16-18; depth of body at origin of pelvic fin 7.7-8.6 in SL; head length 5.0-5.4 in SL; chin with prominent median barbel, followed by 3-4 smaller barbels, folding into median slot behind chin; vertebrae 26 (Ref. 90102). |
