Family:  Psychrolutidae (Fatheads)
Max. size:  35.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 550 - 1550 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: known off Mauritania; probably off western South Africa and Mozambique Channel in the western Indian Ocean. Reports from off Japan probably represent a different species (Ref. 6631).
