Family:  Balitoridae (River loaches)
Max. size:  6.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin and Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Scales keeled; ventral surface scaleless from pectoral fins to vent; 6 saddles on dorsum with last 3 extending down to connect with mid-lateral blotches; lateral blotches form an irregular shape (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Inhabits high gradient streams and rivers with fast water over bedrock, boulder or cobble substrate.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 09 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
