Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
Max. size:  3.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 9 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Maldives, Andaman Islands and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-23; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 12-13. Description: Characterized by brown color of male with irregular bluish bars on side and yellowish margin on brown dorsal and caudal fins; female brown color grading to whitish ventrally with bright red caudal fin; anterior lateral scales 28-34; predorsal scales 12-17; depth of body 24.4-27.6 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in rock and coral reefs exposed to wave action in 1-9 m (Ref 90102).
