Distribution:  South America: Bolivia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal spines: 3-4; Anal soft rays: 7-8; Vertebrae: 42-44. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: eye diameter 20.6-24.8% HL, 45.3-56% SN and 114-153.1% NE; gill rakers on the first arch 30-34; presence of fleshy lobe in anal fin; total vertebrae count 42-44; absence of a black spot on dorsal fin; external mental barbel, surpassing the origin of the anal fin, and the lack of teeth on the metapterygoid; distance between anterior nostrils 12.8-14.9% HL (Ref. 137468).
