Family:  Acestrorhamphidae (American tetras), subfamily: Tyttobryconinae
Max. size:  1.61 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 18-23; Vertebrae: 32-34. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: claustrum absent; infraorbitals 2 + 3 present; a single postcleithrum present; five branched pelvic-fin rays present; adipose fin absent; and a round flap of skin between contralateral pelvic-fins bases absent (Ref. 137886).
