Max. size:  8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 6 - 20 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Pacific: known only from the Seribu Islands in the Java Sea of Indonesia
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-15. Description: Overall yellowish brown, ventral white, scales margins dark, dorsal-fin spines tips black. Body depth 1.8-2.2 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Adults inhabit silty rubble reefs of lagoons and offshore areas. They occur in small loose groups (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205). Diurnal species (Ref. 52881).
