Max. size:  27 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 11-11. Body with 8 faint stripes along longitudinal scale rows above lateral line. Pectoral filaments 5. Second spine of dorsal fin very strong, 2.5 times width of 3rd spine. Lateral line bifurcated on caudal fin base, extending to posterior margins of upper and lower caudal fin lobes (Ref. 40970).
Biology:  Holotype collected from shallow water (1.5 m) over muddy bottom (Ref. 40970).
