Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Upper Rio Paraná basin of northeastern Paraguay and southern Brazil, Rio São Francisco, Rio Itapicuru, Rio Paraíba, and Rio Itapemirim basins of eastern Brazil.
