Distribution:  Africa: middle Congo River basin, from Pool Malebo (Ref. 41585) up to the Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245), in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Report from Odzala National Park (Republic of Congo)(Ref. 85331) is a misidentification of P. arnegardi(Ref. 96601).
Diagnosis:  Description: 24 branched dorsal fin rays; 33 branched anal fin rays; 11 scale rows between anterior base of anal fin and lateral line; 15 teeth in upper jaw, 24 in lower (Ref. 96601).
