Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  4.285 cm TL (male/unsexed); 4.345 cm TL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Lokchao River in Manipur, India (Ref. 57399); and Brahmaputra drainage in Assam, India (Ref. 98590).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 8-9. Description: D. iii,8; A. iii, 5-6; P i,11-12; V. i,8 (Ref. 57399); 8-9 pre-dorsal scales; 10 pre-pelvic scales; 18 pre-anal scales; 4 scales from lateral line to pelvic base; and exhibit clear sexual dimorphism (Ref. 98590).
Biology:  Occurs in rivers and beels. This implies that the fish can live both in lotic and lentic environment (Ref. 98590).
