Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 500 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: southern Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-5; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 5-6. A well-projecting knob on parietal region. No elevation at nape. Bony plate on body with a knob. Attains 15 cm SL.
Biology:  Found over muddy-sand bottom.
