Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 30-35; Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-6; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 21-24. Color variable, blends with environment; parts of fins translucent (adults); preserved specimens uniform buff (Ref. 5496). | |||
Biology: | Found among weeds; mainly in tide pools. Though not of great angling importance, it provides good sport for young anglers (Ref. 12484). | |||
