| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 8-9; Vertebrae: 40-41. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: very faint cream bar (collar) or homogeneus coloration of the nuchal region; 6 branched caudal-fin rays on dorsal lobe; light brown in life, light rosy in life; deep body (13.3-17.0% SL vs. 9.5-13.2% SL), deep head at supraoccipital 48.0-51.5% SL; deep head at interorbital 34.5-43.5% SL; short preadipose distance 70.2-73.3% SL; deep adipose fin 3.1-4.6% SL; large eye 8.5-11.5% SL; and wide internostril distance 9.5-11.5% SL (Ref. 132479). | |||
