Family:  Loricariidae (Armored catfishes), subfamily: Hypoptopomatinae
Max. size:  5.18 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Anal fin with 4 branched rays; dorsal surface of body and head covered by distinct black dots; low caudal peduncle 9.7-11.3% SL; 94-120 teeth in each dentary (Ref. 42856).
