Family:  Triacanthodidae (Spikefishes), subfamily: Triacanthodinae
Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 418 - 920 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa, Japan, Kyushu-Palau Ridge, South China Sea, Australia, and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-13. Reddish pink in color, with 3 pale lines, silvery blue from lower jaw to anus (Ref. 6660).
