Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 700 - 1830 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: known only from off Gabon and Namibia. Reported from South Africa (Ref. 30823).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 63-63; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 56-56. Specimens in alcohol: body blackish, head and fins black (Ref. 6632).
Biology:  Reported in depths of 700 - 1,134 meters (Ref. 51661).
