Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 900 - 1280 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: off southern California, USA and Baja California, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 56-61; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 51-55; Vertebrae: 64-67. Caudal fin rays 8-9. Premaxillary teeth absent or 1-15 present anteriorly on each premaxillary. Complete set of uniserial row of simple triangular, anteriorly slanting canines on each side of lower jaw. Pectoral fins notched.
