Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Crozet Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 59-59; Anal soft rays: 51-51; Vertebrae: 65-65. This species is distinguished by the following characters: 11 + 54 = 65; P 19 + 3 + 3 = 25; rad. Pect. 2 + 0 + 0 = 2; terminal mouth; simple teeth; chin pores not approximated; opercular opening is above the pectoral -fin base; pectoral fin with deep notch, rudimentary notch rays 2-3; head 21.3%, anteanal distance 42.5% SL (Ref. 44814).
