| Diagnosis: | This species is distinguished by the following characters: differs from P. robinsoni in having 2 lachrymal spines and absence of symphyseal knob on the lower jaw; differs from P. curta in having usually D1 X (vs. VIII-IX in P. curta), supraocular spines 9-11 (vs. 6-8), and pored lateral line scales 40-44 (vs. 34-39) (Ref. 117904). | |||
