Max. size:  93.3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 24 - 46 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Cuba to Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on soft bottoms of shelf waters (Ref. 5217). Largest specimen examined was 93.3 cm TL, a 100 cm TL specimen was reported (Ref. 54133).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 15 August 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
