Family:  Latridae (Trumpeters)
Max. size:  60 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: known only from St. Paul's and Amsterdam Islands. Also reported from Tristan da Cunta Island, Vima Mount in the west coast of South Africa and off Australia and New Zealand.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds on benthic and pelagic organisms.
