| Diagnosis: | This species is distinguished from all its congeners by the following set of characters: dark grey bars on flank 6-7, often dissociated into a blotch and a saddle; head with numerous and irregular spots; eyes extremely dorsally situated; axillary pelvic lobe well formed, prominent air-bladder with a minute posterior chamber in abdominal cavity; males with suborbital flap; lateral line is complete; caudal peduncle slender, its depth 1.6-1.9 times in its length, 8.6-10.1 % SL; caudal fin forked (Ref. 130359). | |||
