Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 150 - 550 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Canada (Ref. 5951) to Georges Bank and northern Gulf of Mexico to northern Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on soft bottoms (Ref. 5217).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 August 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
