Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 50 - 300 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Gulf of Guinea to southern Angola.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs over sand and rock bottoms in slope and shelf waters, in temperatures which are below the thermocline. Feeds on swimming crustaceans and small fishes. Spawns from August to November in waters at 15°-16°C (Ref. 3593).
