Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Dagua and San Juan rivers on the Pacific slope of Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This might be a natural hybrid between H. ornatus and H. atromaculatus. Max length 25 cm TL (Ref. 12251).
