Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from a small creek 2-3 km from Danau Bira (Lake Holmes), Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-21; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 24-29
Biology:  Inhabits a small creek in hilly terrain at an elevation of 450 m (Ref. 2847). An omnivore and egg laying species which is considered a peaceful community fish preferring the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.2, H=10, 26°C water temperature, rock, plant and driftwood cover (Ref. 6398).
