Family:  Mormyridae (Elephantfishes)
Max. size:  33 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Ogun and Oshun rivers in Nigeria (Ref. 3203) and Mono in Togo (Ref. 13331). Affinities: meristically close to Marcusenius senegalensis; difference only in the body form and caudal peduncle.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-36; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 29-31. Ratio base of dorsal/base of anal = 0.8-0.9; body length/SL ratio = 2.9-3.3 peduncle 1.9-2.0 x longer than deep.
