Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  15.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 8 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: known only from Oman.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Caudal fin slightly emarginate with broadly rounded lobes.
Biology:  Most specimens were collected from tide pools.
