| Biology: | Occurs on rocky bottom with algal growth. Forages on benthic and algae-dwelling crustaceans, mostly amphipods. Males defend territories and probably tend harems. Sexually dimorphic, red color on head and fore-body of males displayed during breeding season (Ref. 43466). | |||
