Max. size:  16 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 5 - 6; dH range: 0.5 - 1
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in the Negro, Trombetas, Tapajós, Maués and Uatumã rivers; also in tributaries of the upper Orinoco River, and in the Aguaro River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  In blackwater rivers. Maximum length 22 cm TL (Ref. 40602).
