Max. size:  13 cm SL (female)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Atlantic: off Madeira and southern Portugal.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-5; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Distinguishing characteristics of metamorphosed female: relatively long illicium, 75% SL; unknown length and shape of distal escal appendage (Ref. 86949).
Biology:  Only two female specimens (Ref. 7406).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 10 October 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
