Family:  Anthiadidae (Fairy basslets or Streamer basses)
Max. size:  45 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range 20 - 120 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Baja California, Mexico to northern Chile.
Diagnosis:  Third dorsal spine longest, with well-produced filament; middle rays of upper and lower lobes of caudal fin longest (Ref. 40817).
Biology:  Forms schools (Ref. 9342). Feeds on plankton (Ref. 9342).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 May 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
