Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 8-10. Longitudinal scale count 29-31; modal snout length 30.5% HL; maxilla not reaching to below orbit; mouth isognathous; large scaleless opercular spot; all gill rakers bluntly conical; inner tooth rows in lower jaw not extending posteriorly; outer-row teeth in lower jaw 34-48; caudal peduncle length 10.7-14.0% SL (Ref. 52072).
