Environment:	benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:	Africa: only known from Lulua River, Kasai River tributary, middle Congo River basin, in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 42034).
Diagnosis:	Description: moderately deep-bodied; frontal profile straight to slightly concave; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 52307). Coloration: body gray; body scales with a reddish-brown centre, more developed in dorsal body parts; males with pale and shiny maculae in dorsal and caudal fins, and some small egg spots in anal fin (Ref. 52307).
Biology:	Agamous, ovophilic, maternal mouthbrooder (Ref. 52307).
