Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits the shallow littoral zone, especially near emergent and submerged vegetation, less frequent in the water lily zone and at margins of papyrus swamps, commonly encountered over rock foundations of piers (Ref. 4983). The diatoms Melosira and Rhopalodia comprised the predominating digested stomach contents. Plant epidermis, filamentous green algae and fragmentary animal remains were also recorded (Ref. 558).
