Max. size:  7.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 9 - 30 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits off-shore areas with a mud bottom (Ref. 4983). The stomach and intestine of specimens which were examined consisted of blue-green algae, diatoms and smaller quantities of green algae; in some fishes a few fragments of crustaceans and insect larvae were found (Ref. 558).
