Max. size:  11.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 10 - 90 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in areas with organic mud bottom (Ref. 4983). Is a bottom feeder which feeds mainly on the larval stages of dipterous insects together with diatoms derived from the bottom mud. Remains of mollusks and fragments of bivalves and gastropods were found in the stomach and intestines of specimens which were examined (Ref. 558).
