Haplochromis bayoni (Boulenger, 1909)

Max. size:  15.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 10 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in waters with a hard substrate (sand and shingle). Also occurs in exposed sandy beaches and fairly exposed bays (Ref. 4983). Gut content of the specimens which were examined consisted entirely of finely macerated fish remains identifiable as small Cyprinids (Ref. 558).
